Apple iOS 9.0.2 to be jailbroken by the end of October

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL)- The Cupertino giant’s mobile software, iOS 9, is said to be jailbroken by the end of this month.

Apple has already released the first two updates of its new iOS 9 (versions 9.0.1 & 9.0.2) and it’s giving a very hard time to the expert teams, TaiG and Pangu, who strive to release a proper jailbreak for all Apple customers.

And on top of that, iOS 9.1 is expected to be released by the end of this month, so all efforts to jailbreak the existing versions of the operating system intensify even more than before.

In fact, a well known veteran jailbreaker, K33n, is rumoured to be part of the efforts. In the mean time Kernel Patch Protections continues to evolve in order to keep preventing all future jailbreak attempts.

Bassen told iDigitalTimes:

“Let’s say you have a vulnerability that leads to code execution in the kernel. If you want to do things like a jailbreak you have to patch the kernel. This new protection has checksum checks on certain regions of the kernel so when you try to patch something the system will panic.”

Moreover, users that have already upgraded their Apple devices to the iOS 9 or any newer version, can’t go back as the American tech giant forbids them from downgrading for some reason.

Luca Todesco has only recently found a jailbreak for iOS 8.4.1, which he’s shared with the world via Twitter stating: “want to jailbreak? 2 options: wait for me to finish it, or DIY. installd toctou + dyld bug = sb escape. dyld bug + e_d_t_o_c = untether”.

As for the newer version of iOS 9, the best options that all users who have upgraded are left with, is to Cyndia substrate which is available for download from Pangu 9.

What this does, is it allows the use of hundreds of thousands of tweaks.  And since the app can’t be directly downloaded to devices that have not been jailbroken, Pangu has hidden Cyndia inside other apps available on the site.

Hence, all the user has to do is download the app, use Cyndia for a short period of time and then restart his device. Once you turn it on again, you should be good to go.
