Android 7.0 Nougat release date update: Nougat coming in August end

Google is expected to release Android 7.0 Nougat around mid-August. The search engine giant has already announced that the new Android platform will arrive “late this summer”. However, famous leakster Evan Blass took to Twitter and posted information about the launch date on August 5.

Blass disclosed that Android 7.0 Nougat will arrive along with a security patch on August 5. According to 9to5Google, it is highly unlikely for the company to release the new Android since the upcoming developer preview is scheduled for August 18. Hence, we can expect the arrival of Nougat between August 22 and 31.

Even though Nexus smartphones will be the first device to receive new Android releases, Blass had mentioned that Nexus 5 users will not be eligible for Android 7.0 Nougat update.

Android 7.0 Nougat Specifications

The Android 7.0 Nougat features a new Google Camera 4.1, the addition of VR mode in display settings, enhanced multi-language support, deletion of dark theme and desktop shortcuts. Google had already fixed the Quick Setting toggle behavior in the Android N developer preview 5.

Android 7.0 Nougat features: Split Screen, Redesigned Notification Panel, Easter egg game

The upcoming Android 7.0 Nougat features new features such as Sustained Performance Mode, split screen multi-window, redesigned notification panel.

This mode will enhance the battery life of your smartphone to a great extent. The feature enables app developers to manage system resources effectively. It will allow Android to manage the load better and save some battery during the process.

With split-screen functionality, you will be able to activate new picture-in-picture mode. You can continue to run videos in a mini-window when other apps are opened. This is similar to how the YouTube app works on Android.

However, we don’t have any information about whether this feature will be available on all Android devices or just Android TV devices. As a developer, you need to add support for split screen multitasking via API during the mobile app development process.

With the redesigned notification panel, you will be able to easily view notifications. They will be located below a few power controls. You can easily access the controls by pulling down the notification menu from the top of the display. You can also access the full quick settings menu by tapping the expandable drop-down button located on the right.

Recently, few technology geeks reported about a cat-catching Easter egg game. The game is based on the previous Pokemon Go gameplay and Neko Atsume.
