Beijing, China – Xiaomi manages to create a new smartphone that will turn out to be the company’s newest flagship, while at the same time being available at the surprising price of $204 – or $235, depending on the version.
Talk is about Xiaomi Mi 4c, a smartphone similar to the Mi 4i with the exception that this one is available only in the Chinese markets and also runs with one of the most powerful processors in the market. In fact, the two most noticeable differences between the Mi 4c and the Mi 4i, are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 six-core chip that is also found in the LG G4 and the Moto X, and an improved 13MP camera with phase-detection autofocus.
Of course there are some more differences between the two siblings such as the Type-C USB port that the Mi 4c features instead of the Mi 4i’s micro USB port, while the battery has also taken a hit concerning the size but definitely not the performance, as it is still a pretty efficient 3,040mAh battery.
Other than that, we expect to see an identical 5-inch 1080p IPS panel along with the same dual-SIM capabilities as well as the exact same storage options.
At this point we ought to mention that the 16GB version, featuring 2GB of RAM will cost 1299 yuan ($204) while the 32GB version that will have a 3GB RAM, will come at the price slightly higher of 1499 yuan ($235). But it’s still not high enough to take it one category above.
So practically we’re talking about a phone that offers a handful of high end specs at a surprisingly low price. For the record, you should know that according to a quick research, the similar smartphones that can be reached at this category are equipped with features and specs of considerably lesser quality or performance or both. That makes the upcoming Xiaomi 4c practically unbeatable at its range.
Luckily for all the other rival companies, Xiaomi plans to release the device only in the Chinese markets…for the time being. Stay tuned to find out what’s next on this and many other hot topics!
