Samsung Galaxy Note 7: Specs, price, release date

The next addition to the Galaxy Note line-up will be released on 2nd August 2016. It is almost confirmed that the Note 5 successor will be named Note 7 instead of Note 6 to maintain consistency with the company’s S-series of smartphones.

The press invites for the launch event have already been distributed and the official teaser has been outed by Samsung. We already know a lot about the upcoming Note device from various rumors and leaks. Today we are summarizing the most probable configuration and features the latest device will possibly come with.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7: Iris Scanner, S Pen

The Galaxy Note 7 will be feature a brand new Iris scanning capability. The new S Pen is presumed to come with added functions. The smartphone will sport a large 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440) resolution. A Gorilla Glass 5 will possibly offer protection to the screen.

As the case with every Samsung smartphone, the Galaxy Note 7 will also come with two different CPU variants. One will be powered by a Qualcomm SoC and another will feature an Exynos chip.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Specs: Exynos 8893, 6 GB RAM, Android 7.0 Nougat

The Qualcomm variant will sport the quad-core Snapdragon 821. The processor has four custom made Kyro cores, out of which two runs at 2.4 GHz each and the other two are clocked at 2.0 GHz each. The graphics will be rendered by the Adreno 530 GPU.

The Exynos processor is presumed to be an octa-core Exynos 8893 with two quad-core clusters. The high-performance cluster features four Exynos M1 cores clocked at 2.6 GHz each and the power efficient cluster contains four Cortex A53 cores running at 1.6 GHz each. A 12-core Mali T880 will handle the graphics.

The Galaxy Note 7 will feature 6 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and three storage variants with 64 GB or 128 GB or 256 GB capacity respectively. There will be an option to slide in a memory card of up to 256 GB capacity into the second SIM card slot.

The latest Android 7.0 Nougat will most probably power the Note 7 with Samsung’s Touchwiz on top of it. The phone will come with a 12 MP rear camera similar to the Galaxy S7. The front camera will be a 5 MP unit.

The Galaxy Note 7 is presumed to feature improved water resistance ability. The device will be priced around 900 USD in the United States.
