Deals and Discount on iPad Air 2 vs Surface Pro 4: which tablet you should buy on Black Friday 2015

This is neither the first nor the last of a series of extended Black Friday deal comparisons between countless products to help you get the best deals.

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and a number of retailers are yet to announce their plans on Black Friday. This time we’re going to check the best deals between the iPad Air 2 and the Surface Pro 4, two powerful laptops that fight each other head to head.

Apple iPad Air 2

Apple products on the cheap are highly desired, and in recent years, retailers have offered some fantastic deals. It’s important to note that many of the deals listed below will be limited, especially those that are “doorbusters,” or specific sales designed to draw people into a store. Deals like $100 off the iPad Air 2 at Best Buy will likely go quickly, as supplies tend to be limited, and some of these deals are limited to in-store purchases only.

Sam’s Club was the first one to host a pre Black Friday sale with discount on the iPad Air 2, November 14, but that event ended impressively fast in part due to the overall high command of Apple products. Sam’s Club will release additional deals sometime between November 21 and November 25, but few are Apple-related deals.

Best Buy on the other hand offers the 16GB and the 64GB WiFi only iPad Air 2 at a $100 discount, dropping the price to $399 and $499, respectively. The 128GB Wi-Fi only iPad Air 2 will be available at a $125 discount, dropping the price to $574.

Target will offer a $150 Target gift card with the purchase of an iPad Air 2, lowering the effective cost of the 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB versions to $349, $449, and $549.

At this point, it is worth mentioning that as some analysts have pointed out, Apple deals are expected to disappoint a cut of the loyal Apple fan group. This claim is based on the fact that during the previous years, Apple authorized resellers have undercut Apple on Black Friday by as much as 13%, and this year doesn’t seem to be any different. Of course there is always the benefit of the doubt, as Apple could improve its deals this year.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4

Black Friday is no longer a one-day event for Microsoft. Like many eager retailers, the tech giant has already begun slashing prices for a holiday kickoff spree that will last not one day, but several.

Yet, no offers have been spotted on the Surface Pro 4, the company’s latest and most powerful two-in-one laptop. But assuming that there will soon be a deal on the certain product, the demand is high so much like Apple products you might want to stalk the deals as if they were your pray in order to catch the right one at the right time.

However, here’s an interesting fact that may or may not be true. Some sources indicate that Microsoft has established the poorest ecosystems of retailers, so its products usually get the least deals on the American market.

Now, judging by the numbers this doesn’t make any sense so take it with a grain of salt.

In any case, the company offers its Surface Pro 4 Bundle which includes the Surface Pro 4, a Type Cover of your choice and Surface sleeve, with a 2year warranty, and 1 year of Office 365 provided for free. Price starts from $1198 and according to the firm you can save up to $129. Free ships and returns are also included.

Other deals on the certain product have not surfaced yet but don’t get discouraged. Perhaps Microsoft has decided to skip all the early deals for the Surface Pro 4 and go for a super deal on November 27. After all, the company’s official site does have a countdown bar on the top from side to side so they must be up to something.

Best Black Friday Deal?

Judging by the current deals, the iPad Air 2 is offered by a lot more stores and thus inevitably you have a bunch of extra options. For one thing, Apple’s laptop comes at a lower price in this case, and combined with the existing deals, you can probably save a ton of money compared to Microsoft’s laptop that unfortunately is not that popular among the world of special offers, at least for now.

However, let’s not forget that until Black Friday is finally here, deals will keep coming and leaving so we’ll be keeping an eye out to make sure your instantly updated every time a new worth mentioning deal comes up, so stay tuned!

In the meantime, if you see any deals that you want to share with the rest of the world leave a comment below.

Nether one of these products is primarily a laptop and they should not be compared. The iPad is 2 is NOT a laptop and isn’t even in the same class as the Surface Pro 4. It is a year old 9.7″ pure tablet (although probably the best pure tablet on the market.) The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is a tablet that works primarily as a laptop but is not a pure laptop. In October Apple introduced the Apple iPad Pro that is targeted directly at the Surface product line with similar pricing to the entry level Surface Pro but is closer in CPU/GPU performance to the next level up i5 processor series, (unless you listen to Apples limited and biased benchmark data which gives it a faster experience in some apps).
