Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 MIUI 7 smartphone released in China: Price, Specs and Availability details

Xiaomi’s much-touted Note 3 smartphone has been finally unveiled, after dominating the rumor mill for the last few weeks, powered by Google’s Android mobile operating system.

The Redmi Note 3 features sleek looks and a spec sheet worth writing for. It is also the first Xiaomi phone to bring the fingerprint sensor feature on the table and flaunt an all metal brilliantly developed body, so, without any further ado, let’s take a closer look at the handset.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen “fully-laminated display“, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (403 ppi pixel density) and 16M colors.

Underneath the hood, the phone is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek Helio X10 processor, housing eight Cortex-A53 cores each clocked at 2.2GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, or 3GB and 32GB accordingly -depending on the version you opt for. Built-in storage is expandable via microSD card.

Camera wise, the primary shooter, located on the rear, shoots at 13MP and packs phase detection, auto-focus, full HD video and a two-tone flash. The secondary ‘selfies’ camera, embed on the front, comes with a 5MP sensor, recording 720p video.

In terms of connectivity, the Note 3 has been fitted with LTE antennas, 3G, GPS (with A-GPS), WiFi, Bluetooth v4.0, microUSB v2.0 and Dual-SIM. It is worth noting that the particular Dual-SIM supports simultaneous use of two 4G SIM cards.

To accommodate the 1080p 5.5-inch screen, Xiaomi has backed the device up with a whopping 4,000mAh battery, which the company suggests is capable of charging 50% in one hour. Regardless, it sounds fair enough for the spec sheet at hand.

Dimensions wise, the Redmi Note 3 is 8.65mm at its thickest point and weighs 164g, 4 grams heavier than its predecessor, which is negligible, taken into consideration that the newest model carries a much larger battery (the Redmi Note 2 came with a 3,060mAh one) .

The phablet will come with Android 5.1 Lollipop straight out of the box, skinned under Xiaomi’s own MIUI 7.

As aforementioned, Xiaomi has incorporated a fingerprint sensor right underneath the primary camera. The Chinese phone maker claims that the sensor can unlock the phone in 0.3 seconds, which, if true, would definitely accelerate the unlocking procedure to a substantial degree.
