Motorola Moto E3 smartphone unveiled: Price, specs and availability

After releasing an advanced version of the Moto Z, earlier this year, Motorola has announced an enhanced version of the Moto E. No details about the Moto E3 have been released, yet. However, there are a few underlying assumptions floating about the device.

It is said to have been upgraded from a 4.5-inch display to a 5-inch display with 720p. Lenovo, the parent company of Moto E, has claimed that it has a “built-in smudge-resistant screen protector.” Few other upgrades include an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The original Moto E had no front camera.

Sporting a quad-core processor with 1GB RAM, the smartphone may come with a 2800 mAH battery. The internal storage is said to be 8GB. The limited RAM bit may sound a little disappointing, but the Moto E is known for its good performance. Its rivals in the price range offer better specs, keeping that in mind, it wouldn’t be surprising if the company decides to up its game in that department too.

It is said to run on Android 6 Marshmallow, and will be up against some tough competition in the most price-sensitive segment of the market. As far as the price is concerned, anything around the $130 mark could be understandable.

Moto E was one of the original budget phones that set the trend in its own segment. So if Lenovo keeps up this phone’s good track record, it promises to be a winner. Also known for its compact size, it’s just a shame that the company’s Moto lineup now does not have any phones smaller than 5 inches.

The phone is likely to go on sale in September. The original Moto E dominated the market for a fair bit of time, let’s see what befalls the tech world this time around.
