Microsoft Groove Music update for Android and iOS: Responsive interface, faster download

Microsoft has updated Groove music app for iOS (3.5.60708) and Android (3.0.60707) with the integration of new features. Earlier, the app for both platforms was not good as the Windows version. However, with this update users will be able to experience improved features. The Redmond-based software giant has refreshed the app in such a way that it looks similar to that of their Windows counterpart.

With the latest update, the app features an Explore view, which lists the most popular songs. Moreover, the user interface is designed in such a way to adapt to the various display sizes instead of plain old Xbox style interface. The main attraction of the latest Groove music app update is that it looks very much similar to that of the Windows app running on Windows 10 Mobile.

Meanwhile, Microsoft also infused a new download engine, which is capable of achieving faster downloads for offline playbacks in addition to various improvements.

As soon as you complete the update process, the Groove music app will start rebuilding the existing collection from scratch. According to Ellen Kilbourne, who works as a Microsoft support engineer, the product team has integrated several new features and hence the database should be rebuilt to move forward. The whole process will take only less than two minutes and you will be able to work with Groove without any problems after that.

With the new update, you will be able to easily navigate your music collection and also explore the Groove music catalog. However, the “Your Groove” automated playlists, which is available with Windows version, is not yet available on iOS and Android platforms. We expect Microsoft push an update in the upcoming months.

Alternatively, you can search a Your Groove playlist on Window PC and save your playlist collection to enable the automated sync to iOS and Android.

We observed that the latest release is fast and responsive than the previous version without any lags and crashes. The iOS version will be compatible with iPhone only. Microsoft is planning to provide a capability to add background downloading. However, with the latest release, we managed to see faster sign-in using Microsoft account.
