Karin Kanzuki coming back to the Street Fighter 5

Street Fighter 5 has one more trick up its sleeve as Capcom announced today at the Tokyo Game Show. After hearing the exciting news, we expect to see Karin Kanzuki making a dynamic comeback in the title after a long time of absence.

To quote the exact paragraph mentioning the topic: “Karin is the young heiress to the Kanzuki Zaibatsu, a global financial conglomerate that possesses vast wealth and resources. Her regal and pampered upbringing is what led to her high-maintenance attitude and razer-sharp wit. But behind her flowing golden locks lies a true martial artist obsessed with upholding her family motto, “In all things be victorious!” Karin is well versed in numerous martial arts, which she and her family combined to create a unique “Kanzuki style” of fighting.”

Karin’s first appearance was in 1996 on the Street Fighter manga. Later we saw her for the first time with virtual flesh and bone in the title treet Fighter Alpha 3.

Many believe this character to be not that popular among the rest of the fighters but surprisingly enough, Karin Kanzuki was ranked 7th in a worldwide character popularity poll and 1st in Japan.

Even though she might not be a personal favourite, I have to admit: Karin has a bunch of killer moves that balance extreme power with elegancy with the most notable of them all being the V-Trigger, Kanzuki-Ryu Guren No Kata. That is a chain of kicks and punches that leave the opponent lying on the floor. But the versatility of this character does not end there. Another one of her most powerful attack is the V-Skill, Meioken, a palm strike that cuts through any projectiles and knocks down her opponent.

Capcom has informed the fans to expect 12 characters on the new Street Fighter 5 so far. Among the standard ones (Ryu, Ken and M. Bison) we also expect to see lesser known characters such as Necalli and R. Mika along with 4 brand new fighters some of which are believed to be underdogs.

What other characters are we to expect? I hope Capcom keeps surprising us with new and old additions that we all want to see getting back on the game.
