Samsung to launch new Gear VR headset for $99 only

For starters, we expect to see Samsung’s Gear VR released by the end of November with additional support for a wide variety of Android handsets. There has been a previous version but it kind of hit rock bottom due to the fact that it was only compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The new version however seems to be following a much more logical guideline, and is compatible with the Note 5, S6, S6 Edge, and S6 Edge Plus. Of course now funny enough, the new Gear VR is not compatible with the Note 4…what can you say!

Comparing to the previous version, this Gear VR is – according to Samsung – 22% lighter and much more comfortable to use for longer periods of time. Oculus is also bringing a new arcade experience to its product which allows customers to play classic arcade games in a more immersive environment. But aside from that we hope that this does not involve the $2-3 charge that most classic arcades apply.

Other than that, Oculus seems to be willing to make the buying experience for a customer less painful and costly, thus they announced the development of a new “Oculus ready” brand for inclusion on systems that meet a certain standard of quality. Further details were not revealed but all clues point to a powerful hardware able to deliver over the edge VR performance.

Last but not least, the company also presented Oculus Touch, a system designed to give users tactile feedback in VR environments. Gizmodo made a review on the product and from the looks of it, they were left extremely satisfied. But on the downside, it will not be part of the Oculus Rift package which will ship in early 2016. Other details on exact release dated of games, and full products are yet to be published so stay tuned to make sure you don’t miss out anything important.
