INDIA- Lenovo Group Ltd., (NASDAQ: LNVGY) The computer tech giant has released its Yoga Tab 3 tablet running on Google’s Android 5.1 Lollipop in India priced at at Rs. 16,999.
Lenovo appears to be focusing on enforcing its presence in the Indian consumer electronics market, with a second tablet announcement in the last few days, the Yoga Tab 3. Last week the company revealed its budget Tab 2 A7-20 tablet priced at Rs. 5,499, which is merely US$85.
The Yoga Tab 3 is classified under the mid-range category, as it sports a 8-inch IPS screen with an HD 1280×800 pixels resolution and is powered by Google’s Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. The tablet is also fitted with the company’s own AnyPen technology as well. The AnyPen tech allows users to use anything as a stylus for the display- from a pencil to a knife.
The Yoga Tab 3 houses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 210 (APQ8009 / MSM8909) quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, coupled with 1GB of RAM and an Adreno 304 GPU.
Camera wise, the tablet packs an 8-megapixel shooter featuring auto focus and 180-degree rotation. The internal storage capacity is 16 gigs, expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card. To run the juice, Lenovo has included a whopping 6200mAh Li-ion battery, which delivers up to 20 hours of usage and 95 days of standby time. An extra feature worth the mention are the speakers included in the tablet, which are made by Dolby Atoms.
The Yoga Tab 3 comes in a number of versions; 8-inch WiFi-only, 8-inch with LTE as well as two respective 10-inch variants.
When it comes to the aforementioned Tab 2 A7-20, the tablet offers a limited set of specs compared to the Yoga Tab, such as a quad-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.3GHz and 1GB of RAM, as well as a 7-inch IPS display with a 1024×600 resolution. But for $85, it is a bargain.
The Yoga Tab 3 is available to purchase from a number of Indian retailers for Rs. 16.999 (US$292).
