HTC Corporation, (NASDAQ: HTCXF)- The company has announced through Twitter that its just announced One A9 Aero will be available only with the 32GB option in the US.
HTC has been dominating the tech headlines today with the release of the One A9 Aero smartphone, which will be accompanying the One M9 flagship handset. The device features an elegant, iPhone 6S-like, design while it packs some powerful specs underneath the hood.
The Taiwanese giant mentioned during the launch event that the device will be available in two storage variants. The 16GB one, which will be fitted with 2GB of RAM, and the more premium 32GB one which packs 3GB of memory.
During the event, HTC also said that pre-orders in the US will be initiated today, while shipping won’t start before November. Moreover, the US edition of the company’s website listed the One A9 Aero under US$399, without mentioning which of the two installments was priced under that amount.
After users pointing out the issue on Twitter, Jeff Gordon, Senior Global Online Communications Manager at HTC, responded to the question at hand by stating that the 32GB option will be the sole variant that will be available in the States. Hence, if users wish to obtain the 16GB-2GB RAM version, they will have to purchase the device from a third-party retailer and not directly from HTC itself.
The One A9 Aero will be sold through AT&T’s and Sprint’s networks in the US. There is still no word regarding Europe and Asia. In addition to that, HTC said that the $399 price tag is a promotional one and will rise in the near future.
As aforementioned, the One A9 is a high-end device, flaunting an all metal body, octa-core chip coupled with 2GB/3GB of RAM, a 13MP camera on the back and a 4MP on the front. The handset is available in four different color options; Opal Silver, Carbon Grey, Deep Garnet and Topaz Gold.
